What different Versions are there?
There is an 8gb, 16gb and 32gb version although availability of the large models is not all that great.
When is the 32gb P3 version available in the UK?
It has been spotted available for pre-order in the UK and is thought to be on sale from July 2009.
When is the 32gb P3 version available in the USA?
There is no current information. Unfortunately the P3's have been slow coming to market and if you do see one in the shops, and you want one, you might like to pounce on it whilst you can!
Does the P3 come with decent head phones?
No, not suprisingly the included earplugs are not the best headphones in the world. Although they do work you might not find them to be the best quality and might even be uncomfortable if used extensively. How about an upgrade (UK or USA)?
What is the Renault Samsung P3 Special Edition?
The P3 SM3 Special Edition personal media player is very similar to the version we all know and love with a few extra features. It is capable of Bluetooth streaming to the car's audio player and can be controlled with the steering wheel playback controls. It also has a specialised SM3 image and video album and a SM3 racing game, vehicle inspection chart and information about Renault Samsung service stations.

How can I play it whilst Charging?
Normally you can't listen to music when connected to your PC, however there are several suggestions for doing this:
- Put your PC in sleep mode before plugging in the USB cable
- Turn the power on after plugging it in
- Listen to music on your P3 through your PC, just navigate to the MP3 files through explorer and play them through your computer's speakers
- Buy an AC adapter, some people report this lets you listen and charge

Loading Media Onto the Samsung P3
My Album cover art is not shown on my P3, why not?
The images all must be embeded in the Tags, no JPG files need to be in the music folders. A program such as MP3 Tag is capable of embedding album art into the file, or alternatively Tag&Rename. Others have reported using MediaMonkey to successfully create and tag MP3 files.
I am having problems fixing my album art, what can I try?
- Try the following using Tag&Rename:
- Highlight the song you want to fix (a single file or all the ones that share the same album art)
- "Multi file tag editor" Tab --> "Edit All Supported Tag Fields"
- When you open this ALL options box are ALWAYS unchecked. You will see here already under the unchecked Option box="Art" the picture of the album art (since it is already embedded it in the tag)
- Check the Option box="Art" again and exit from the Advanced Tab with "Save"
I am still having problems with my album art! What else can I try?
- Try exporting the file as a jpg and then reloading it again:
- underline the song you want to "fix"
- "Multi file tag editor" Tab --> "Edit All Supported Tag Fields"
- When you open this ALL options box are ALWAYS unchecked. You will see here already under the unchecked Option box="Art" the picture of the album art
- Export it into a jpg file using 'Save As'
- Check the box="Art"
- Add -> choose the file you have just exported and exit from the Advanced Tab with "Save".
- Remove the superfluous jpg file you have exported
How can I view lyrics on my P3?
Try Samsung's Lyrics Station, or perhaps MiniLyrics or Evil Lyrics
How can I watch BBC iPlayer Programs on my Samsung P3?
- Look for the "Download to Portable Device" option in a drop down beneath the main viewing area. Note that this may not be visible on all browsers, if you are having problems check with Internet Explorer.
- Download the WMV file
- Transfer in MTP mode (note in UMS mode you may get a "Could not acquire license" error)
- Enjoy your television
Mac users are out of luck (please update the wiki if this changes!) and this service is only available to UK TV license fee players!
Looking After the P3
How can I clean my Samsung P3's screen?
Getting smudges on your touchscreen is inevitable, however the glass screen is failry robust and can be easily cleaned by Breathing on it, then wipe with something soft, for example eyeglass cloth. And remember, your P3 will still work with some smudges on the screen so don't get too hung up on it!
My Samsung P3 appears dead?
I had a problem once where my P3 refused to switch on, it was totally unresponsive and for no obvious reason. It worked one day and the next it was just a blank screen. Fortunately solving the problem seemed as simple as pressing the reset button (located on the base of the player). Get hold of a pin and use this to reset your player, you need to insert it a little way in and you'll here a slight click as the rest is triggered.
My Samsung P3 Won't Charge?
As above, when my P3 appeared dead it also refused to charge. Pressing the reset button seemed to work for me.
