The Samsung GX20 DSLR Camera is one of the most prolific and ergonomic digital cameras in it's price range. It comes with a breathtaking 14.6 megapixel image CSOR sensor, lens mount, and additional sd card slot, there are no other ways to explain the beauty of the images that this camera produces, as the specifications speak for themselves.

Overview

The Samsung GX20 was introduced in January, 2008 at a specialty consumer electronics presentation, and released in the late 4th quarter of 2008, and was met with universal acclaim for its ease of use and affordable price. The main thing most praised by critics was the inclusion of the impressive 14.6 megapixel sensor, and it's ease of use for the typical consumer.

It's often said about this particular camera that the quality of the images is quite difficult to describe in text, but in a word it is extraordinary. The camera accuracy and production has near-life like quality, giving the illusion that one could literally reach in and grab the foreground, which is represented beautifully in all of the test images.

The kit that comes with this particular camera comes with Samsung's 18-55mm zoom lens, which is considered "fine zoom" in the industry. Though the zoom isn't as impressive as some of the other high end cameras, there are no other cameras for this price that allow for 18-55mm zoom out of the box. It is often considered to be a semi-clone of the previously released Pentax K20D, however, this meets and exceeds every feature on that camera for a severely reduced MSRP listing price. Compared to it's predecessor, the GX20 includes a substantial increase in shutter speed and drive access speed due to the increased amount of ram in its CPU.

However, there is one technical hangup with the Samsung GX20. This particular camera has 7 different ISO settings from 100-6400. There is no noticeable picture distortion between ISO 100-800, however, once climbing above about 1200, there is obvious and annoying noise and distortion in the images. This isn't that big of an issue, considering how many people actually need pictures that large, however, for professional photography this could become a bit of an issue.

In conclusion, this is a wonderful camera with plenty of room for upgrade. The most fantastic aspect of the camera is its 14 megapixel CSOR sensor, and its increased shutter speed and SD card access speed. Though, this is basically a design copy of the Pentax K20D, this improves on it greatly.
