Overview

- Samsung started their adventures in the netbook market with the NC10 towards the end of 2008. Although they were one of the later manufacturers to enter the netbook market they quickly gained market share thanks to the universal positive reviews from the four corners of the Internet. This ultra portable device was not particularly innovative in any unique way, however it hit upon a winning formula by getting the specifications just right for many looking to buy. The NC10 was big enough to be used comfortably, it provided enough power to run modern application, it was light enough to carry unnoticed in a bag and when coupled with a long lasting battery that promised up to 7hrs buyers lapped it up!
- This was followed early in 2009 by the Samsung NC20, a 12" based computer that utilised the VIA Nano CPU. This larger model also gained critical acclaim and was well thought of.
- In March 2009 3 new models were announced. The N110, an updated version of the excellent NC10, the N120 a netbook with a full sized keyboard, and the N310 which was aimed at those looking for a stylish portable computer that owners wouldn't be afraid to pull out in front of their friends. By May 2009 all of these models were shipping and being enjoyed around the world.
- In July 2009 details of a new ION based netbook, the N510, started leaking out into the Internet, quickly followed by news of a possible range including the N508 and N511. The ION platform paired up nVidia graphics and Intel's Atom to provide a device with a greater graphics capability.
- September 2009 saw the release of two new models, the N130 and the N140. Neither was revolutionary but were a continued evolution of an existing winning formula.
- January 2010 was when news of 4 new models hit the Internet. These were based on the Atom N450 CPU and each promised superior battery life to previous models. Welcome to the N210, N220, N150 and the rough tough NB30.
